Ausdrain EnviroModule Re-use System - Residential:

The Ausdrain EnviroModule Re-use System offers a practical and cost effective solution for the underground storage and re-use of rainwater. This water can then be effectively reticulated for household purposes such as toilets, laundry, car washing, swimming pool and garden hosing. The system is supplied as a complete package including a submersible pump and utilises the Davey Rainbank, that senses when the tank is near empty and automatically switches the flow of water from tank to mains supply. This can provide potential water saving benefits of up to 40%. The Ausdrain EnviroModule Re-use System is the most cost-effective method of installing an underground rainwater tank replacing the need for unsightly above ground tanks that take up valuable land area.

The system is available as a stock item in ready to order sizes ranging from 2500 litres to 20000 litres in capacity. Larger sized tanks can be supplied on request and above ground pumps may also be incorporated as an option. Ausdrain EnviroModule tanks can be supplied to specific dimensions to suit individual site requirements and can be installed under trafficable areas such as driveways allowing greater use of land area and design flexibility.

Ausdrain EnviroModule Re-use System - Commercial:

Stormwater Re-use:

Top of Page

The Ausdrain EnviroModule Re-use System is a cost-effective and flexible solution to underground stormwater storage requirements. The high compressive strength and durability of the modules enables them to be installed under driveways and carpark areas, thus making the most of valuable and often limited land space.

The required number of EnviroModules are used to create the storage capacity. There are 9.6 modules required to create 1000 litres of storage. Therefore, you would require 96 modules to create a 10 000 litre tank.

The modules are then encased in either a factory welded liner that is made to size as per the specification or an LDPE liner depending on job requirements. Both liners meet Australian Standards AS2070 Part 2 for potable water use.

The Ausdrain EnviroSump(s) or a Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) filters the water before entry into the tank avoiding the need for long term and costly tank maintenance. In the event that the tank surcharges, excess water is discharged through an overflow pipe to a designated outlet.

Finally, a suction line is inserted inside the tank and connects to an above ground pump system. The pump is selected according to irrigation and pressure requirements.

The modular flexibility of the system gives designers the scope to specify tank dimensions that best suit a particular project.

Ausdrain EnviroModule Infiltration System:

The Ausdrain EnviroModule Infiltration System provides a cost-effective and practical solution to the environmental issues of stormwater management.

Each EnviroModule tank is constructed from high compressive strength modules that have been engineered to allow stormwater to be efficiently discharged inside a structural void that is completely surrounded in a geotextile fabric.

The Ausdrain EnviroModule tank can be installed in a variety of soil types due to the remarkable infiltration rates proven to be up to six times greater than gravel filled systems. Compared to gravel, the high void storage volume of the modules reduces tank sizing, saving on excavation and spoil removal costs.

Pre-filtering of stormwater is essential for a well-designed system. Combined with the Ausdrain EnviroSump this system provides a complete stormwater management package.

Stormwater On-site Detention:

Ausdrain EnviroModule Detention System:

The Ausdrain EnviroModule Detention System provides a practical and cost-effective method to the construction of underground detention tanks.

Ausdrain EnviroModule tanks can be easily installed saving valuable time and money on each job. There are no footings, slabs, block-work or reinforcement required. Each tank is sealed with a strong and durable impervious liner.

Ausdrain EnviroModules are available in standard duty suitable for installation under landscaped areas or extra duty for trafficable areas. The modular nature of the tanks allows greater scope for design flexibility and tank sizing.

Ausdrain EnviroSump filtration units and Discharge Control Pits filter water and prevent gross pollutants from entering the modular tank. This provides valuable at source water quality benefits and avoids costly long-term tank maintenance.

Stormwater Bio-remediation:

Ausdrain EnviroModule Treatment System:

Top of Page

Stormwater flowing from roadways, carparks and pavements contain toxic and gross pollutants. Heavy metals such as zinc, copper and lead are deposited on our roadways and are washed into the stormwater drains with each rainfall. Other stormwater pollutants include nutrients from decaying organic matter, detergents and pathogens from animal waste.

Without proper management this polluted water will end up in our oceans and waterways seriously impacting aquatic ecosystems.

Gross Pollutant Traps (GPT's) are effective in capturing solids such as litter, sediment and organic waste. However, in most cases it is not possible to treat stormwater for nutrients and heavy metals using such systems. A secondary stage of filtration is required based on treatment techniques used by other technologies such as constructed wetlands, sand filters and bio-retention systems.

Ausdrain EnviroModules can be effectively used to create a secondary treatment system. This system has proven to be extremely effective in the treatment of stormwater run-off. During light to medium rainfall all stormwater is directed to the system for treatment. During large storms the system adequately treats the initial “first flush” runoff containing the major concentration of pollutants.

The Ausdrain EnviroSump has been designed as a low cost, effective and easy to maintain stormwater filtration unit.

Each unit consists of a 600 x 600 x 700mm pit, removable stainless steel basket with handles and a 200 or 400 micron filter bag depending on flow requirements. The filter bag is easily removed for cleaning and the contents discarded as compost.

The EnviroSump can be supplied with a 600 x 600 x 300mm riser allowing flexibility for varying pipe invert levels.
